Metrology (Test) Engineer
We are currently recruiting for a Metrology Engineer, the company is based in Oxford. They are a global leader in design and production of adjustable focus eyewear. The company was founded back in 2005, since that time they’ve grown from 2 people to nearly 60 with sites in the UK, Tokyo & Boston.
The Metrology Engineer will be responsible for managing the design process for a number of components and sub-assemblies, from specification review and concepting to prototype release; including production and testing of prototypes and development of the prototype manufacturing process flow and Design for Manufacture (DfM) activities.
The role therefore requires close and efficient coordination with the process team operating the product prototyping line and liaison with third party suppliers of materials, sub-components and equipment.
***What the Metrology Engineer will do***
+ Define and develop optical metrology solutions including software and instrument qualification
+ Running of existing internal metrology equipment – OGP & TESA
+ Ensuring metrology is carried out in a robust and reliable method
+ Reporting metrology in a clear concise and traceable format
+ Specifying and managing delivery of metrology fixtures ideally optical test fixtures
***What the Metrology Engineer needs***
+ A minimum of five years’ experience in a relevant field
+ Experience on OGP & TESA metrology equipment. Contact and non-contact
+ OGP programming capability
+ Gauge R&R
+ Worked with a variety of manufacturing techniques in a number of different materials.
