We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Java Developer (NGS), the company is based in Oxford and has been established now since 1995. They are a global leader in genetic research, with customers spanning over 60 countries and a very large reputation in the genomic medicine market.
The role sits within the computational biology group’s software development team & will involve developing, testing and supporting applications used both internally and by customers of our microarray and NGS products.
***What the Graduate Java Developer (NGS) will do***
+ Writing clean code to implement new features and fix bugs in existing software
+ Supporting other team members by reviewing code and providing feedback
+ Liaise directly with customers and other stakeholders to translate feature requests
+ Providing second-line support
+ Develop with the Agile methodology
***What the Graduate Java Developer (NGS) needs***
+ Experience with Object-Oriented design
+ Development of Java desktop or web applications
+ Exposure to relational database design theory and SQL/MySQL/Postgres
+ Experience developing applications using the Spring framework
+ Understanding of tools such as Hibernate/JPA/JDBC
