Assay Development Scientist
My client is an industry leading life sciences company dedicated to providing Life Scientists with the high quality, unique and powerful tools they need to develop safe and novel diagnostics and treatments. Currently, the company are developing novel bio-therapeutics that will compete with monoclonal antibodies and antibody mimetics in the future of diagnostics and treatments.
Due to recent expansion and growth, they are looking for a for an enthusiastic and highly skilled Assay Development Scientist with previous experience in assay development using antibodies, antibody fragments or non-antibody scaffold technologies in either the CRO or biotech sector.
Working in a state-of-the-art facility, the role will be to setup and develop a range of in vitro assays (such as ELISA, cell-binding assays etc.) to support protein characterisation and the validation of their technology in industry-standard assays.
What you will need
• One of the following:
o A BSc in a biological discipline with at least 5 years industry experience
o A PhD in a biological discipline with at least 2 years industry experience
• Industrial laboratory experience should be of working with and developing assays using antibodies, fragments and/or non-antibody scaffold technologies.
• Be able to demonstrate a strong ability to develop target binding (e.g. ELISA, LFD, Agglutination) and phenotypic based assays (phosphorylation, cell proliferation etc.) using a range of techniques (e.g. Western blot, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and IHC).
• A bold and innovative nature and a desire to be fully involved in driving the growth of the business
