My client now seeks someone to fill the role of Food Safety Management Systems Lead within the Food Manufacturing Technologies Department. The Role To lead and develop the team focussed on the support of food safety management systems in the food industry and implementation of best practice in all aspects of food hygiene in manufacturing. Duties will include (with a rough % of time spent on each dutie): • Lead the team undertaking a mix of, research, consultancy and training projects across a broad spectrum of Food Safety Management topics. (30%) • Design, deliver and promote the Food Safety Management Systems and Hygienic engineering and practice related services offered by the team. (25%) • Where appropriate interpret scientific results from project trials preparing reports and communicating results in line with the client and Campden BRI expectations (10%) • Development and implementation of business development strategies leading to the preparation of proposals to clients that results in contracts, training and research in the Food Safety Management area. (25%) • Respond to direct technical enquiries using own expertise and information retrieved from relevant sources to answer the client query. (5%) • Coordination of the Training products offered by the FMT team across the Department, interfacing with the Training Department to agree resources and priorities. (5%) The Candidate • Degree qualified in a relevant subject, with experience in food manufacturing to give the appropriate level of credibility to operate in this broad and strategic role. A higher degree may be an advantage if in an appropriate area. • Effective project management skills from recent experience. • Trained to an advanced level in auditing and food safety management. Evidence of training capability through a “Train the Trainers” course or similar • A significant technical expertise and network in the area of Hygiene management in factories including design • Good verbal and communication skills to form good business relationship and to develop new business • Effective time management skills relating to effective delivery and business practices • IT literate.
