    My client is a privately-held technology company with a global headquarters and state-of-the art ophthalmological research and manufacturing facility in Oxfordshire. Due to expansion they are looking for an experienced Process Engineering Manager. Reporting to Programme Director, you will be leading the companies design capability. The Process Engineering Manager will lead and direct the companies Innovations Variable Power Optics (VPO) fluid manufacturing process technology. Working closely with the Optical Technology and Design Engineering teams, the role requires the specification of new and development of existing processes. This role will not suit a sedentary manager and requires an individual that has drive, passion and a hands on/ lead by example approach. The position requires you to have a broad knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, and the suppliers of equipment to deliver these. The process challenge will require working with precision components and processes to tight tolerances in a clean room environment. You will be expected to manage a small team of engineers and to lead process characterization in parallel with engineering concept design, and then to specify, procure and modify process equipment. They are recruiting for a large number of positions at present and are interested in qualified candidates to fill their group leader role within the AAV vectors division. The Group Leader will be involved in a range of internal platform development and commercial projects, predominantly focused on establishing novel AAV vectors, stable viral packaging cell lines/bioproduction systems, and running a commercial batch production function through a sub-team. The company have a number of on-going programmes and collaborations in this area, and multiple government supported grant awards, which the recipient will contribute towards. Prior experience in engineering AAV vectors is essential, as is a detailed knowledge of AAV vector biology, production and characterisation methodologies. Group Leaders are expected to take a scientific and technical leadership role, while providing support and training to Scientists and technicians working in the group. The position will involve extensive interaction with both internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to show commitment to scientific development and innovation are considered essential.
