This role will appeal to strong manaul testers, perhaps with some automation exposure, who are ready to hit the ground running in the manual aspects but want to further her / his career in automation. Job Overview The development and execution of manual and automated test scenarios for a high-profile software solution for one of the world’s biggest banks. Including the testing of new functionality, regression testing against previously defined scenarios, user acceptance testing and business verification testing. In time (after training) ,design automated applications that will convert manual test preparation into automated test. Work with the test team and developers to understand what the challenges and requirements of each test are to ensure the process goes smoothly. Key Activities - Review Solution Design Documents (SDD), Functional Specification Documents (FSD), User Stories, release notes, user documentation, help files, and other project documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed (i.e. perform manual static testing). - Integrate test suites into the test management system and custom test harnesses. - Participate in the Software Change Advisory Board to identify the quality implications of known bugs and the impact of proposed changes to product definition on the testing process. - Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test objects developed and test environments used. Experience Sought - ISEB/ISTQB qualifications in software testing (if not currently held, a desire to become certified) - Knowledge of test automation (e.g. SpecFlow, Gherkin, Cucumber) - Experience with software productivity tools - Good knowledge in software testing methodology and the system development lifecycle (Agile a V model) - Experienced in writing test cases and test strategies - Experience of unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, functional testing and client acceptance testing - Experience running and installing applications on Microsoft operating systems - Experience in testing Web based applications - Knowledge and experience in querying databases - Proven testing experience of business-critical packages - Good knowledge of MS Word and Excel. This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the cell engineering and screening team, to ensure experimental design is carried out accurately and efficiently, and to generate customer proposals and provide regular updates/reporting. This position would suit an individual with a strong background in gene editing and mammalian cell manipulation, but also with an aptitude for process optimisation and with an operational mindset. The position would interface extensively with a number of other teams in the organisation, in particular with bioinformatics, automation and quality.
