    Research Associate, Process Development - Oxford Based in Oxford my client is an up and coming regulatory and manufacturing company, specialising in next generation biotechnology. Due to a fantastic period of growth they are looking to take on a Research Associate, Process Development. The role of the Research Associate will be to conduct and assist in the evaluation of new processes in production. The research associate will also help to improve existing processes to improve efficiency and quality. They will ensure that all studies, tests and procedures performed in the laboratory follow quality procedures. There will be an element of laboratory based viral vector production work to assist the manufacturing team. The company are looking for people with diverse and multidiscipline backgrounds in order to drive the company forward. You must be comfortable supporting other areas of the business departments as required. You will have BSc or higher in biological science or equivalent industrial experience. At least two years’ experience with demonstrated practice in cell culture systems, virus/protein purification methods and downstream processing techniques. The role of the senior scientist will be to design, conduct, optimize and evaluate new processes in viral vector production. The senior scientist will also work to improve existing process design to improve efficiency and quality. They will monitor the field for new techniques and approaches and ensure that all studies, tests and procedures performed in the laboratory follow quality procedures for all aspects of work. There will be an element of manufacturing responsibility to assist the Director to ensure that recombinant viral vector seed stocks are produced correctly using approved methodology and that quality systems are complied with The company are looking for people with diverse and multidiscipline backgrounds in order to drive the company forward. You must be comfortable supporting other areas of the business departments as required. You will have PhD in the biological sciences, or a MSc plus experience in an industrial setting. At least 5 years of relevant work experience, with demonstrated experience in virus and protein production in cell culture systems, virus/protein purification methods and quality control assays. Proficient in conducting research using a variety of methodologies; e.g., TFF, IEX, SEC, FACS, QPCR, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, Western blot, viral growth curves, viral titration. Experience of sourcing new technologies and applying them to a production workflow to increase productivity/quality.
